Chicken Curry Stew

Here’s a video recipe for a classic Isobe family dish that my mom & dad have perfected over the years. This is a rich & hearty, savory Japanese curry recipe!

INGREDIENTS:
One 3-5 lbs chicken
The head & leaves from a stalk of celery
3-4 ribs of celery chopped
3-4 carrots chopped
2 large onions (1 quartered 1 chopped)
2-4 russet potatoes chopped
1 qt. chicken stock
1 qt. water
1 8.4 oz. package of S&B brand curry blocks Medium Hot
½-1 8.4 oz package of S&B brand curry blocks Mild OR AS NEEDED TO YOUR TASTE!
2-4 sprigs of fresh thyme
3 cloves garlic whole
1 tbsp. dried oregano
1 tbsp. dried thyme
2 cloves
6-8 peppercorns
1 bay leaf
1 tbsp. S&B golden curry powder
1 tspn. generic curry powder
1 tspn. turmeric
1 tspn. celery seeds
Salt & Pepper
Optional - white rice to serve over
8qt. stock pot
